What you will learn:
You will learn the art of taking base line vital signs.
Measuring Blood Pressure using a manual and automatic blood pressure cuff and stethoscope
Pulse Oximetry using a basic pulse ox monitoring device
Blood Glucose using a blood glucose monitor – you will be pricking fingers and getting a real blood reading.
Temperature – using a thermometer
Heart Rate using manual manipulation finding the pulse points and using technology
Respiratory Rate using manual manipulation and technology
Lung Sounds using a stethoscope.
What you need to bring to class: notebook, and if you own your own equipment, feel free to bring it with you. We will provide classroom equipment for practicing and using.
